The Samuel Team at John R. Wood Properties is pleased to provide the monthly market report for Southwest Florida for August 2020. For the combined months of July and August, 5,741 transactions closed, 26% more than during those same two months in 2019 and more than any other combined July and August on record. September is starting on a strong footing as well, with 34% more closed sales during the first half of the month than for the same period last year. The million-dollar-plus market has led the charge and, with 485 sales for July and August, exceeded the same period last year by 89%, breaking all past sales records for the same two-month period. In a “typical” Southwest Florida summer and fall, would-be sellers tend to wait until season to market their homes in order to capture buyer activity brought by seasonal visitors. But, again, there’s nothing typical about 2020. Season or not, buyers are here right now, and many sellers who are on the market have little competition. https://
